Entering Chesterfield on A61 from the south

Enter Chesterfield on A61 and turn left at traffic lights on to A632, following signposts for ‘Matlock’ and ‘Walton Hospital’. Continue over mini roundabout, passing Walton Hospital and ‘Blue Stoops’ Pub. About ¼ mile after the pub, turn right off the A632, into ‘Acorn Ridge’, and then immediately left on to ‘Walton Back Lane’. St John’s appears on your left. There is a large car park.

Entering Chesterfield on A61 from the north

Travel along the A61, passing the Town Centre on your right. Go straight ahead at the roundabout, remaining on the A61. Pass McDonalds on your left, and continue for ¼ mile until you come to traffic lights next to SS Augustines’ Church.  Turn right at traffic lights on to A632, following signposts for ‘Matlock’ and ‘Walton Hospital’. Continue over mini roundabout, passing Walton Hospital and ‘Blue Stoops’ Pub. About ¼ mile after the pub, turn right off the A632, into ‘Acorn Ridge’, and then immediately left on to ‘Walton Back Lane’. St John’s appears on your left. There is a large car park.

Entering Chesterfield on A619

Enter Chesterfield on the A619 passing St Thomas’ Church. Turn right at roundabout by Morrisons Supermarket into Walton Road. Travel the length of the road, and then turn right at traffic lights on to the A632. You will pass the ‘Blue Stoops’ Pub. About ¼ mile after the pub, turn right off the A632, into ‘Acorn Ridge’, and then immediately left on to ‘Walton Back Lane’. St John’s appears on your left. There is a large car park.

As you near Chesterfield, you will see signs to the right for Wingerworth. Ignore these but be aware you are within ½ mile of the Church. When a farm appears on your right, you need to prepare to turn left on to ‘Acorn Ridge’, and then immediately left on to ‘Walton Back Lane’. St John’s appears on your left. There is a large car park. (If you get to the Blue Stoops pub you missed the turn!)
